Summer Internship – Systems Development

Location: London | Hybrid

Our Fund Services business delivers innovative solutions to investment managers and financial institutions globally. This internship offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced software engineers on enterprise-scale applications supporting the financial services industry.

• Support the design, development, and enhancement of applications within the Fund Services business
• Develop and maintain software solutions using Java and SQL technologies
• Write and execute JUnit test cases to support software quality and reliability
• Assist with maintaining and modernising existing codebases, including updating legacy library references
• Collaborate with global development teams in an agile and distributed working environment
• Participate in code reviews, testing activities, and technical discussions
• Work with tools and technologies such as GitHub, Linux, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines

• Currently studying towards a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Experience using Java for software or systems development
• Experience working with SQL and relational databases
• Understanding of JUnit testing frameworks and software testing principles
• Knowledge of maintainable coding practices and modern software development approaches
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a distributed team
• Passion for technology and eagerness to learn new skills and tools

• Experience using Linux environments
• Experience using GitHub and GitHub version control
• Familiarity with GitHub Copilot
• Experience using Docker
• Exposure to CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions
• Knowledge of trading, market making, or financial products would be advantageous
