Overview
Test specimens in an accurate, organized and prioritized manner following laboratory procedures and policies to ensure quality and time guidelines in accordance with all regulatory agency requirements. Collect a variety of specimens as required by specific section needs, with skill and sensitivity to needs of the patient. Ensure specimens are properly identified, collected, labeled and stored. Perform instrument maintenance according to section procedures. Maintain inventory of supplies. Maintain a safe and clean working environment. Follow department policy maintaining all necessary records and documentation. Ensure input is accurate and complete.
Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field and 2 years of experience in the offered position or in a medical-related field.
Must have one of the following certifications:
• Blood Banking (ASCP-BB)
• Chemistry (ASCP-C)
• Cytogenetics (CYGT)
• Hematology (ASCP-H)
• Microbiology (ASCP-M)
• Molecular Biology (ASCP-MB)
• Medical Lab Scientist (ASCP-MLS)
• Medical Technologist (ASCP-MT or AMT-MT)
