Summary

In conjunction with the mission, vision and values of Star Valley Health, this position is crucial in the supporting and providing direct patient care. Duties include, but are not limited to, evaluation, treatment, and care of patients with breathing or other cardiopulmonary disorders. Performing limited physical examination, and conduct diagnostic tests. This position is at-will.


Job Duties

  • Provide care to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient populations in the hospital, emergency room and care center.
  • Applies and maintains life support systems including oxygen, CPR and mechanical ventilator support devices to critically ill and oxygen dependent patients.
  • Provides airway care including the maintenance of a patent airway through intubation, clearance of airway obstructions and reversal of bronchial narrowing due to bronchospasms, and inflammation of the airways.
  • Performs diagnostic evaluation including the performance and interpretation of pulmonary function studies.
  • Monitors and evaluates exhaled gases. Performs direct and indirect calorimetry, transcutaneous, and oximetry measurements, evaluates cardiac monitors and indwelling catheters.
  • Assures the accuracy of monitoring systems by providing necessary calibrations, adjustments and quality control.
  • Determine how well patients respond to treatment.
  • Handle confidential and proprietary information on a daily basis.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Attend classes, training and meetings as scheduled and required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, communicate effectively, and demonstrate sensitivity to patients, visitors and staff.
  • Comply with HIPAA and other federal, state and local regulations, as well as maintain the highest degree of confidentiality in patient and staff matters.

  • Become proficient with proprietary software systems

Experience & Education:

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
  • Current CPR certification
  • Computer literate; Microsoft Office, Internet

Compensation details: 26.65-39.99 Hourly Wage
