Who We Are:
The Economic Services Division (ESD) is responsible for the administration of benefits to help Vermonters meet their basic needs. ESD is one of 6 divisions under the Department for Children and Families (DCF) which is one of the largest departments (1000 employees) within the largest agency (Agency of Human Services) in the state of Vermont.

We're looking for someone who is a creative thinker with a knack for designing training programs that captivate and educate. The Role:

The Training and Curriculum Design Coordinator's (Trainer's) primary role is to design and develop dynamic training programs and facilitate trainings that meet the needs of our staff. In this role, you'll get a chance to:

· Serve as a subject matter expert to create content that's both informative and engaging.

· Work with staff from all over ESD, including Reach Up Case Managers, Benefit Programs Specialists, Senior Benefit Program Specialists, Supervisors and Division Leadership, as well as Central Office staff.

· Use the tools and technologies to deliver training that's interactive and impactful.

· Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make improvements to keep them fresh and relevant.

· Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within Economic Services.

· Work with a supportive, collaborative and passionate team that will go the extra mile for Economic Services' staff and their own team.

· Sprinkle in some creativity to make learning experiences memorable and exciting!

AHS BACKGROUND CHECKS:  Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position.  In accordance with AHS Policy 4.02, Hiring Standards, Vermont and/or national criminal record checks, as well as DMV and adult and child abuse registry checks, as appropriate to the position under recruitment, will be conducted on candidates, with the exception of those who are current classified state employees seeking transfer, promotion or demotion into an AHS classified position or are persons exercising re-employment (RIF) rights.

Environmental Factors

Duties are carried out in a variety of settings including standard office, classroom, facilities of a resource provider, or even in an on-the-job setting. Considerable travel is involved for which private means of transportation must be available. Position duties may require performance outside of normal work days and hours. Tight deadlines for organization and presentation of proposal and programs can occur. Strong and differing opinions may arise as to the nature, content, method of delivery, etc. of training programs, which should be positively channeled to achieve program enrichment. Changes in available funding may necessitate sudden program modifications.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree AND three (3) years or more of professional level experience in the broad field of employee training, curriculum development, staff development, psychology, human services or education, INCLUDING one (1) year or more in a formal employee or client development program.

OR

Master's degree in the broad field of education, psychology, or human services AND one (1) year or more of professional level experience in the broad field of employee training, curriculum development, staff development, psychology, human services or education, INCLUDING one (1) year or more in a formal employee or client development program.

OR

Associate's degree in the broad field of education, psychology, or human services AND five (5) years or more of professional level experience in the broad field of employee training, curriculum development, staff development, psychology, human services or education, INCLUDING one (1) year or more in a formal employee or client development program.

OR

High School diploma AND seven (7) years or more of professional level experience in the broad field of employee training, curriculum development, staff development, psychology, human services or education, INCLUDING one (1) year or more in a formal employee or client development program.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience as senior worker or supervisor.  Background in education or Adult Learning Theory
