The Credit Data Analyst II will work as a member of Stifel's Analyst team within the Credit Risk Data Analytics group. The Credit Data Analyst II is responsible for automation and servicing of systematic data extraction from the Core systems and integration of data into applications used by the business. The Credit Data Analyst II will also act as a subject matter expert for assigned raw data sets as well as maintain documentation surrounding them. The Credit Data Analyst II will employ data science methodologies to ensure loan portfolio data integrity to be utilized in credit loss forecasting and management reporting as well as supporting discovery or solutions for firm data driven initiatives and developments. This position is expected to interpret requests, work with business users as well as the portfolio delivery team to further define requirements, analyze the data requested to ensure proper use and then translate those requirements into queries that will provide the objective data sets.



What We're Looking For

  • Responsible for the monthly production of loan impairment calculations and portfolio analytics
  • Master all aspects of processing within Impairment Studio with the help of Moody's internal support team
  • Perform in-depth analysis and act as subject matter expert for assigned raw data sets and document data dependencies, sources and outputs that impact the allowance process
  • Support Portfolio Managers and /Underwriters with finalizing PD / LGD calibrations integrating Moody's Credit Lens and Commercial Mortgage Metrics platforms in an end-to-end Credit Risk Management process
  • Improve the accuracy and consistency of loan risk ratings, and ImpairmentStudio outputs through automation and documentation of internal processes, providing data integrity and reconciliation accuracy and consistency metrics through periodic reporting
  • Documentation of existing processes and models to a required standard as defined by the internal & external auditors and other governance bodies
  • Proactively identify and recommend process and practice improvement within the team.
  • Maintain strong communication with stakeholders, following up as needed to ensure all requests are being actively addressed and/or status is being communicated.


What You'll Bring

  • Solid understanding of financial industry terminology and concepts.
  • Knowledge of financial services, specifically wealth management.
  • Solid understanding of basic concepts of Microsoft T-SQL and database design.
  • Ability to leverage SQL to create queries which model and/or aggregate large complex datasets.
  • Leverage these skills to grow abilities in developing normalized data sets for enterprise wide business intelligence purposes.
  • Strong analytical skills focused on using logic and reasoning to identify complex relationships within a data structure as well as to research and discuss recommended uses.


Education & Experience

  • Minimum Required: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or Business Administration or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum Required: 3+ years of investment, financial or technical experience.


Licenses & Credentials

  • Minimum Required: None.


Systems & Technology

  • Expert in SQL, Scripting and PowerBI.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of Tableau, AWS, Python, and R is preferred.
