Description
The Tax Accountant II plays a key role in the annual federal and state income tax compliance process. The Tax Accountant II prepares and/or reviews the federal proformas, consolidated/unitary state, and separate company state income tax returns as well as above-the-line and informational forms. The Tax Accountant II also assists with tax technology.
What We're Looking For
- Prepares and/or reviews work papers, proforma federal returns, state income tax returns, and/or state franchise tax returns.
- Prepares and/or reviews quarterly estimates, extension calculations, vouchers, and filed forms.
- Assists with tax technology, from creating Alteryx workflows to maintaining our state tax apportionment application through Microsoft PowerQuery.
- Prepares, gathers, and provides proper data to outside income tax compliance services providers.
- Assists with federal and state tax audits.
- Responds to notices received from state tax departments.
What You'll Bring
- Experience and proficiency with corporate income tax compliance, including ONESOURCE.
- Analytical ability to review data, systems, and processes to identify and resolve issues.
- Strong knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the accounting field.
- Basic understanding of the financial markets and financial services industry.
Education & Experience
- Minimum Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum Required: 2-4 years of corporate income tax experience; 2-4 years of general accounting experience in place of direct corporate income tax experience.
- Background in the ONESOURCE tax suite of products.
Licenses & Credentials
- CPA Preferred
Systems & Technology
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Knowledge regarding Alteryx, PowerQuery/PowerPivot, and Power BI Pro.
