Description

The Chief Fiduciary Officer directs the Fiduciary Department, which is the area in charge of acceptance of accounts and provides legal support to the Marketing Department, Administration Department, Investment Department, and management of the Stifel Trust Companies (STC). This position is to participate in management committees and chair the committee involved with most discretionary decisions made by STC. The Chief Fiduciary Officer will also supervise the members of the Trust Acceptance Group. 



What We're Looking For

  • Serve as Manager of Fiduciary Department, Secretary for STC, and Chairman of the Fiduciary Review Committee.
  • Active participant in Fiduciary Administrative Committee, Fiduciary Investment Committee, and other Committees as assigned.
  • Review STC documents in a current or future fiduciary capacity.
  • Oversee all client accounts for any issues prior to acceptance.
  • Resolve issues regarding new accounts prior to acceptance.
  • Review, understand and interpret language in contracts that involve STC while limiting fiduciary, regulatory and legal risks.
  • Provide legal support for Marketing, Administration, Investments, and management of STC.
  • Oversee litigation involving STC.
  • Advise financial advisors on complex client trust matters.


What You'll Bring

  • Understand and comply with all regulations, including 12CFR9, Community Reinvestment Act, Bank Secrecy Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, etc.
  • Solid investment oversight experience.
  • Solid knowledge of trust administration principles.
  • Effective communication skills and able to relay information well in both written and verbal form.
  • Advanced knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political process
  • Strong knowledge of the financial service industry including Federal and State chartered banks, trust companies and securities broker/dealers.
  • Strong knowledge of the products and services available in the investment industry as well as the methods, processes and staff of Stifel.
  • Solid and reliable mathematical skills.
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify complex problems; review related information and develop options and implement solutions. Understand and comply with all regulations, including 12CFR9, Community Reinvestment Act, Bank Secrecy Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, etc.


Education & Experience

  • Minimum Required: Juris Doctor degree
  • Minimum Required: 10+ years' working with fiduciary accounts


Systems & Technology

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel #LI-JK1
