The Opportunity:
Tetra Tech, a global leader in high end consulting services, is seeking an Encroachment and Mission Sustainment Functional Lead to support the Air Force Mission Sustainment Program. The position will provide vital technical support, task leadership, and strategic communications to promote and enhance the Air Force's Encroachment and Mission Sustainment Program. This role may also require coordination and occasional support for the Air Force Community Partnerships Program that is operated within the same office.

Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The successful candidate will :
• Plan and develop deliverables in compliance with Department of Defense (DoD), federal, state, and local statutes, regulations, and policies.
• Oversee completion of tasks related to encroachment management, energy siting decisions, and compatible land use planning.
• Plan, coordinate, and attend meetings across all levels of the Department of the Air Force (DAF) enterprise, and with other DoD Services. This includes developing meeting agendas and providing meeting minutes.
• Lead development of new policy and guidance related to encroachment management / mission sustainment and update existing policy and guidance.
• Participate in DAF subject matter workgroup meetings.
• Oversee operation of mission sustainment risk report using the Mission Compatibility Analysis Tool (MCAT) report to DAF client.
• Coordinate DAF enterprise-wide completion and submission of Mission Sustainment Risk Reports.
• Support data calls as required.
• Support conferences, such as Association of Defense Communities (ADC) events and internal training workshops.
• Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
• Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in science, environmental management, geospatial analysis, planning, public policy, or related field.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience supporting DoD or DAF encroachment management.
• Willingness and ability to travel as needed, approximately 10 - 25%.
• Hold an active DoD security clearance of “Secret” or ability to obtain a security clearance if required.
• Ability to define internal project schedules and familiarity with graphic components, mapping/planning graphic elements.
• Experience with encroachment management, airspace and land restrictions, including air, water, and natural/cultural resources.
This position requires the candidate to be a U.S. Citizen due to the projects they will be working on.
If this position requires a CAC card, CUI Enclave Access and/or a Security Clearance, a background check will be completed.

While primarily performed in an office environment, travel and on-site work might be required which could require lifting 50 pounds of documents or equipment, traversing uneven terrain during site visits, and standing long periods of time at public meetings.

This work is principally performed in an office environment; however, there are occasional requirements to visit client sites, which requires the ability to perform work in an office environment or outdoors while conducting data gathering site visits, participating in on-site meetings, and attending conferences or other training activities off-site. Travel to conferences and client sites is expected to be less than 25% of the time.
Language & Communication Skills:
• Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing and editing.
• Proven ability to produce high-quality reports and presentations for senior DoD and community officials.
• Strong skills in preparing and presenting planning reports and project documentation.
Other Skills: Instructions: Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite of software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
