The Opportunity:

Tetra Tech is adding an Architectural Project Manager to our Global Services Design Team based in our Marlborough, Massachusetts Office. This position can be hybrid or fully remote and can be based in any location within the United States.

We specialize in facility and utility planning, design, and construction services throughout the project lifecycle. One of our key clients is the U.S. Department of Defense. Our projects range from full design and construction support for military base expansions and improvements to critical infrastructure such as airfield pavements, roadways, water and wastewater systems, and power and communications networks, as well as headquarters, operations, housing, warehouses, and other mission support facilities.

Essential Job Functions:

 

The following duties are considered essential to the role. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions:

 

  • Oversea the preparation of full design bid build documents, working on design-build construction contractor teams and providing support services during construction

  • Manage the development of facility design, drawings and specifications for schematic design, design development and constructions documents

  • Lead design charrettes with clients and stakeholders

  • Perform independent technical reviews

  • Hire and manage subordinate architects, engineers and drafters 

  • Ensure a high level of satisfaction with our clients related to our A-E and construction management services

  • Identify new opportunities and participate in developing new business.

  • Prepare cost proposals for new projects

 

Required Qualifications:

 

We are seeking motivated individuals who are passionate about facilities and infrastructure design and thrive in collaborative environments. Ideal candidates will possess::

  • Bachelors degree in Architecture from an accredited college or university

  • Professional Architectural Registration is required

  • Minimum 12 years' architecture experience related to design and construction services

  • Project management experience achieving a high level of project technical and financial performance while ensuring high quality services and deliverables

  • Must be knowledgeable of building codes and state and federal procedures

  • Possess an understanding of the complete project life cycle from planning through design, agency submission, bidding, construction and construction close-out

  • Understanding of how all disciplines are integrated in the design of a building including building materials and system

  • Willingness to participate in short-term international travel as needed

  • Enthusiasm for contributing to team projects

  • Due to the clients we serve, this position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Residence Card. Must be able to pass background screening including criminal history, credit check etc

  • Ability to drive on an occasional basis for business purposes is preferred. To do this, you will need a valid driver's license, pass a motor vehicle record check, and maintain a safe driving record.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience on US DoD, Department of State, General Services Administration, or other US Federal Agency projects is highly preferred

  • Experience using BIM software, such as Revit is desirable

 

Physical Requirements:

 

  • Stand or Sit. Must be able to remain in a stationary position a minimum of 50% of the time.

  • Use hands/fingers to handle or feel. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.

 

Work Environment / Environmental Factors:

 

  • Office Environment. Majority of work is done in office environment.

  • Occasional Travel. While traveling may have limited exposure to extreme heat/cold. Since travel is likely to be international in nature employees will need to sit for extended period of time on airplane.

 

Additional Information:

  • Employment Type. The position is full time regular, 40 hours per week. Additional paid overtime is available with manager approval

  • Work Schedule. Standard office hours are Monday thru Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm including an unpaid thirty minute lunch break.

  • Work Location. The work location is flexible within the United States

  • Remote or Hybrid. This position has the option to work from home five days per week or hybrid in office within United States  in accordance with Tetra Tech's Remote Work Policy

  • Salary and Benefits. The salary range for this position is $110,000 to $150,000.
