The Civil CAD Manager is responsible for managing a team of Civil CAD Designers and Technicians utilizing a variety of platforms and ensures drawings and designs adhere to project/client requirements, established specifications, codes and standards, and that drawings and designs are completed on time. You will also lead the coordination and implementation of CAD/BIM software with the IT Department as this is critical to ensure consistent efficiencies and production of quality and timely design work.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee, develop and manage the design aspects of new and existing projects
- Coordinate and develop best practices for redlines, drawing and modeling workflow and implement across WTR
- Provide technical support for software users for project setup and troubleshoot issues
- Coordinate and develop best practices for Civil CAD resources file/data storage and access
- Coordinate and develop best practices for working across multiple platforms
- Coordinate and develop best practices for Civil CAD notations across multiple disciplines
- Develop tools and processes to simplify and automate workflows
- Observe project performance and coordinate workload through entire project duration to complete all documents on time
- Review project documents and provide consultation for the Civil CAD work/design details
- Review work in progress and make design recommendations and redline of project documents
- Create designs, draft and develop Civil CAD details
- Work directly with Project Managers and management to assign and prioritize Civil CAD work for the team to ensure full Civil CAD support for project needs.
- Supervise Civil CAD staff
- Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of experience with water resources projects
- Experience managing multiple projects working with cross functional teams
- Experience with Architectural, Civil, Structural, and Mechanical CAD notations
- Strong interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Expert skill level and/or understanding of MicroStation, AutoCAD, Revit, OpenRoads, Civil 3-D, BIM
