Your Role:
Tetra Tech is seeking an Entry to Mid-Level Engineer for our Helena, MT operations to provide design and oversight support for several of our civil/environmental projects. Typical project tasks include developing design drawings and volumes in AutoCAD, field oversight of design, writing specifications, developing preliminary engineering reports, CERCLA feasibility studies and EECAs, cost estimating, and occasional construction oversight. Other tasks will include fieldwork such as environmental sampling and treatment plant operation and maintenance. Typical projects involve hazardous waste remediation, water treatment, and abandoned mine reclamation. Careful and accurate data reporting and technical writing are expected. Up to 80% travel may be required at times, seasonally.
Qualifications:
Candidates should have 0 to 8 years of experience working on civil or environmental engineering projects. Desired skills in the ideal candidate include but are not limited to:
- Must be highly motivated, customer focused and work well in a team environment.
- Must also have the ability to travel across the State and the Nation as needed.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as familiarity with AutoCAD and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel required.
- Education or previous experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D 2020 or later preferred.
- Education or experience with mine reclamation, HEC-RAS, hydrologic engineering, water treatment preferred.
- Strong technical writing skills preferred.
In addition:
- This position requires you to drive on a regular basis. Passing a motor vehicle record background check and maintaining a valid driver's license and good driving record is required.
Education / Certification:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mining, Environmental Engineering or a related field required.
- Engineering graduates must have successfully passed the EIT exam.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred.
- Current 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certificate is preferred.
Physical Demands:
Lifting instruments and equipment up to 50 pounds, climbing up steep slopes and other difficult terrain, and work outside in extreme cold and heat may be required.
Work Environment:
- Air travel to field project sites outside Montana will be occasionally required.
- Field work may be conducted on difficult terrain and sometimes under harsh weather conditions.
The salary range for this position is $47,000 - $90,000, depending on education, experience, and skills.
