Your Role:
Collect and preserve water samples for compliance and non-compliance purposes at collection sites throughout Rio Tinto Kennecott facilities.
Sampling of groundwater monitoring wells by purge sampling, no-purge well sampling using the Hydrasleeve method, collection of process samples from Kennecott facilities, and collection of water samples from outfalls permitted under the Utah Pollutant Discharge Elimination System.
Measure the depth to water of monitoring wells.
Conduct field analyses of samples for pH, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, and ORP in accordance with laboratory protocols and standards.
Maintain, decontaminate, and calibrate field equipment to ensure accuracy and validity of data.
Repair of sampling pumps and equipment.
Set priorities for sample collection from sample schedules.
Work with limited supervision in remote areas.
Prepare chain of custodies, field reports, and enter field data in the laboratory information management system.
Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
Additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license
- Physical ability to hike, carry equipment, and work in field conditions.
- Comfortable working independently in remote or outdoor environments.
