The Opportunity:
Tetra Tech is adding a highly qualified Facility Security Officer (FSO) to lead and manage all aspects of facility security operations in accordance with U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Orders, government regulations, and contractual requirements. This critical role supports the protection of sensitive programs and facilities by ensuring full compliance with security policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
The FSO will provide strategic oversight of physical and personnel security programs, working closely with government customers, internal leadership, and external security organizations. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, exceptional communication skills, and proven experience operating in highly regulated security environments.

Essential Job Functions:
- Serve as the primary authority for all facility security operations and compliance.
- Oversee physical and personnel security programs for assigned facilities.
- Maintain Foreign Ownership, Control or Influence (FOCI) documentation and compliance.
- Prepare, administer, and manage personnel security actions and clearance processes.
- Coordinate security clearance processing with multiple DOE and NNSA sites.
- Ensure compliance with DOE/NNSA Orders, security directives, and contractual security requirements.
- Interface with government customers and external security organizations to ensure full regulatory alignment.
- Implement and maintain security policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Monitor security performance and recommend improvements as necessary.
- Maintain accurate security documentation and records.
- Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
- Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
- Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
- Additional duties as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent relevant experience.
- Prior experience as a Facility Security Officer or in a similar security management role.
- Strong knowledge of DOE/NNSA security regulations and procedures.
- Completion of the FSO Program Management Course preferred.
- Active DOE Q Clearance with the ability to maintain.
- Must have or be eligible to obtain and maintain DOE Q Clearance.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
- Ability to move throughout secure facilities and conduct physical inspections.
- Occasional lifting of files and materials (up to approximately 25 lbs).
Work Environment / Environmental Factors:
- Primarily office-based environment with occasional on-site security inspections.
- Interaction with controlled and restricted-access environments.
- Must be able to work in a high-security, highly regulated setting.

Compensation:
Pay commensurate with experience.
Pay Range: $60.00 – $75.00 hourly
Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience and demonstrated work experience in the above role; skills, certifications, and competencies that align to the specified role; geographic location; and education, as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
