Join our dynamic Corporate Business Development Support (BDS) team to make visually compelling arguments that win Tetra Tech business. As a graphic designer and document layout specialist, you will create persuasive, compelling, high-quality designs and layouts for business development and marketing products.

 

The graphic designer/layout specialist is a full-time member of the Tetra Tech BDS team and works closely with strategic pursuit managers and coordinators, as well as operational leadership. Our small, collaborative, cross-functional group partners with operations to create business development materials (e.g., proposals, SOQs, slide decks/presentations, cutsheets) that are submitted to customers. 

 

The graphic designer is a visual rhetorician who excels at fusing graphics and text that inform and persuade. You have expert knowledge of current design software and love learning the latest design trends and tools. You have experience using your creative and problem-solving skills to bring a project from concept to final deliverable. You enjoy working with multiple stakeholders and translating their ideas into visually appealing and functional designs that are clear and compelling.

Your Role:

  • Design and produce compelling visual and written materials that win work—proposals, SOQs, capability statements, and presentations.
  • Combine strong design instincts with editorial awareness to synthesize visuals and text into cohesive, persuasive layouts.
  • Develop and evolve visual themes, templates, and branded materials that align with Tetra Tech's identity and engage client audiences.
  • Use Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and M365 (PowerPoint, Word) to create professional, production-ready designs and documents.
  • Leverage AI tools and design plugins to streamline ideation, layout, and content refinement.
  • Manage your own design/production queue—from concept through delivery—collaborating directly with internal stakeholders, gathering feedback, and meeting deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Organize digital assets and maintain version control using Teams and SharePoint.
  • Ensure all outputs meet brand, quality, and accessibility standards.

 

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of professional experience creating visually engaging, BD materials (degree in relevant discipline with relevant applied technologies is equivalent to 1-year professional experience).
  • 2+ years' experience in relevant industry is preferred (e.g., engineering, consulting, SaaS).
  • Expert proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, and advanced skills in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word.
  • Proven ability to translate complex technical or textual content into clear, visually compelling concepts and layouts.
  • Experience using AI and automation tools to enhance design efficiency and creativity.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills—able to prioritize, multitask, and manage projects independently.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with confidence to engage directly with technical and BD staff.
  • Advanced design and layout expertise (expert in Adobe and Microsoft design environments) is preferred.
  • Creative synthesis and ability to merge visuals and text into cohesive, persuasive BD materials is preferred.
  • Writing and/or editing skills is a plus.
