Position Summary:

The Human Resources (HR) Intern will provide support on a variety of different tasks with the HR department. The position will last approximately three months, with the possibility for extension based on performance, how well the candidate works with the team, and the business needs of the HR team. This internship will require a maximum commitment of 35 hours per week with a flexible schedule and is presently remote. This is a paid position, and we anticipate the candidate starting soonest after presenting an offer. The required location for this role is in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan (DMV) area.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Post job descriptions on internal and external websites.
  • Provide administrative support through note taking, completing research, updating HR forms on internal site, and assisting in large form HR projects.
  • Create new hire postcards for email distribution to staff.
  • Process HR department invoices.
  • File relevant information to employee's electronic personnel file.
  • Support HR Generalist with employment verifications entries into labor action system.
  • Prepare and update Excel tracker for PFP annual assessments tracking, leave of absence requests, and new hire, termination, and transition requests.
  • Provide administrative support for the Learning Management System (e.g., updating and maintaining attendance and completion data, uploading content, running reports in Excel, etc.)
  • Work on special projects related to HR department.
  • Provide additional support to the HR team as needed.

 

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled or recently completed a Bachelor's degree program required.
  • Minimum one year of relative experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new software programs quickly.
  • Professional demeanor and communication skills, especially via email and by phone.
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize within a multi-tasking environment.
  • Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills.
  • Fluency in English required. Fluency in a second language, such as Arabic, French, or Spanish preferred.

Pay Transparency Statement:

The compensation for our internship program is $17.50 per hour.
