Your Role:

The ICC Inspector Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing a team of building inspectors to ensure compliance with local, state, and national building codes and regulations. This role involves supervising inspection activities, providing technical guidance, coordinating with contractors and project managers, and ensuring that all inspections are thorough, accurate, and timely. The supervisor also ensures that the inspection team adheres to the standards set by the International Code Council (ICC) and other regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, train, and evaluate a team of ICC-certified building inspectors.

  • Schedule and coordinate inspections to ensure all projects comply with applicable building codes, safety standards, and regulations.

  • Review inspection reports and documentation for accuracy and completeness.

  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to inspectors on code interpretation and enforcement.

  • Collaborate with contractors, architects, engineers, and project managers to resolve code compliance issues.

  • Ensure inspectors maintain up-to-date ICC certifications and receive ongoing training.

  • Monitor and enforce adherence to safety regulations during inspections.

  • Prepare reports and communicate inspection results to management and stakeholders.

  • Assist in developing and updating inspection policies, procedures, and quality control measures.

  • Participate in disciplinary actions and performance improvement plans for inspection staff, as needed.

  • Stay current with changes in building codes, standards, and industry best practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • ICC certification(s) relevant to the jurisdiction and inspection specialties (e.g., Residential, Commercial, Electrical, Mechanical).

  • Proven experience as a building inspector with demonstrated knowledge of international, state, and local building codes.

  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience in an inspection or construction-related role.

  • Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety standards.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under deadlines.

  • Proficient in using inspection software and related technology.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree or certification in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field.

  • Experience with quality assurance and quality control processes.

  • Familiarity with local government operations and permitting processes.

This position with Tetra Tech is temporary and on an "as needed" basis and will end. It is understood that your employment is to be on an "at will" basis.
