Project Summary

Tetra Tech is providing energy expertise and related technical and material assistance to the Government of Ukraine. This project focuses on enhancing the resilience, reliability, affordability, and security of the electricity, natural gas, and district heating sectors. The scope of work includes addressing immediate challenges and physical damage to energy infrastructure, as well as preparing for Ukraine's post-war reconstruction and long-term energy security.

Position Summary

Tetra Tech will mobilize energy efficiency investments in the commercial and industrial sectors and support initiatives that reduce energy consumption through conservation and technological advancements that will ultimately lead to lower costs for all energy consumers. Tetra Tech will seek to facilitate at least $1 billion in demand-side management investments, primarily from the private sector. 

Tetra Tech is recruiting an Industrial Process Coordinator, Industrial Energy Efficiency to serve as part of a multidisciplinary team of experts which aims to develop energy efficiency (EE) interventions in the commercial and industrial sector. This is a full-time position located in Kyiv, Ukraine. Candidates must be based in and authorized to work in Ukraine for the duration of the assignment. Travel within Ukraine and abroad may be required. 

Position Responsibilities

  • Review and assess energy audit reports, prefeasibility assessments, and feasibility studies developed by subcontractor. 
  • Monitor subcontractors for the implementation of activities under Component 2 concerning industries. 
  • Assist government agencies by developing priority legal acts for industrial EE. 
  • Provide inputs to the EE action plan for Ukraine's industrial sector. 
  • Support National Energy and Climate Plan implementation. 
  • Support the operations of the Decarbonization Fund of Ukraine. 
  • Provide inputs to progress reports and other project working papers. 
  • Support the design and delivery of capacity-building workshops for stakeholders. 
  • Participate in trainings, workshops, and other events. 
  • Other relevant duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree or a bachelor's degree with equivalent combination of experience and education in engineering, economics, finance, or a related field. 
  • At least 8 years of experience in the energy sector. 
  • At least 5 years of experience in energy programs / plans development in industry sector. 
  • Sound knowledge in energy saving measures identification, renewable energy use, measurements and verification of energy savings. 
  • Proven knowledge of different industrial processes. 
  • Experience in industrial energy management. 
  • Sound knowledge of EU and national regulations (including standards) on industrial EE. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication. 
  • Excellent computer literacy. 
  • Fluency in Ukrainian.

Preferred but Not Required Qualifications

  • Fluency in English. 
  • Strong organization/analytical skills; experience working with detailed technical data and reports. 
  • Accreditation on energy audits and/or energy management standards. 
  • Knowledge of process-related best practices on EE. 
  • Experience in performance of trainings, workshops, and other events. 
  • Experience working on international donor-funded projects.
