We are currently looking for a Project Technologist to join our Alberta Transportation team in our Edmonton, AB office. This is an hourly paid position with the opportunity to earn overtime pay.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Initiate, track, and support projects using our Oracle-based system, including cost and schedule tracking, data collection and display, quality assurance, file management, financial approvals, and changelogs.
  • Schedule and facilitate project meetings to keep the team aligned and informed.
  • Support project close-out activities in collaboration with the Finance Team.
  • Monitor and report on budgets, analyze billing, and administer tenders to maintain financial accuracy.
  • Prepare field and testing reports and ensure proper document control.
  • Aid in reviewing proposals, preparing contracts, tenders, cost estimates, managing document controls and other 3rd party requests.
  • Review service agreements and road closure submissions to ensure compliance.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and work closely with the project team, surveyors, and municipalities to address issues.
  • Perform other administrative tasks and duties as assigned by the Manager and Team Lead to support the business and build job knowledge.

 

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering; post-secondary certification in a project-management-related program may also be considered.
  • Experience in providing project supervision, project management and administration preferably in a consulting environment working wit Municipal and Provincial governments.
  • Ability to assist with contract preparation and third-party requests.
  • Knowledge of document control and reporting processes, with familiarity in SharePoint or other document management software; experience with Oracle-based environments is an asset.
  • Experience with Land Acquisition, private and crown lands will be an asset.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with a self-motivated attitude.
  • Ability to manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint) with a focus on Excel; experience with MS Project is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic and commitment to safety.
  • Creative problem solver who works in a professional and ethical manner.
