The Opportunity
Tetra Tech is seeking a Radiation Safety Training Professional with experience in local, state, federal, or private sector emergency preparedness/response/recovery programs as they relate to Radiation Safety, to assist with various emergency preparedness, response, and recovery - training and exercises.
This position is based out of our Cincinnati, OH operating unit.
Your Role
The individual selected for this position will be responsible for working independently. Travel, work in client offices, oral presentations and training, and written report preparation will be required.
The preferred candidate will be able to manage project schedules and budgets.
The primary responsibility will be to support government and private sector radiation and hazardous materials and/or oil preparedness, response, and recovery training, and program development activities.
Primary activities will occur throughout the United States.
Qualifications
- At least 20 years of radiation safety, preparedness, response, and recovery experience with a local, state, federal or private sector organizations is preferred. Must have strong oral and written communication, client relations, and project management skills. Certified Health Physicist (CHP)s are preferred.
- Recent experience and certifications for government emergency planning, training, and exercise activities – specifically with the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and Incident Command System (ICS) are critical.
- Must be highly motivated, customer focused, and work well in a team environment.
- Must have initiative and the ability to manage projects with minimal supervision and oversight.
- Must also have the ability to manage a heavy workload, travel, and be on-call as needed.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and management skills, as well as proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
- Business development experience is a plus.
Degree / Certifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or 20 years of relevant or related experience.
Advanced degrees and additional certifications or training are a plus.
Work Environment
The work environment is a mix of in-office work, with visits to training facilities/sites and client offices as needed.
