Your Role:

Tetra Tech is seeking a part-time Senior-level Environmental Scientist or Geologist to manage and support various environmental projects throughout the Midwest and Arkansas.  This position will assist with writing Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and may occasionally perform Phase I site visits.  The selected candidate should be a senior-level professional who has written at least 30 Phase I ESAs.  

In addition, this position may also support other report writing activities, such as asbestos surveys, lead-based paint surveys, groundwater monitoring reports, and remedial investigations.  In this position you will be part of a project team.  

This position can be performed remotely or from a Tetra Tech office.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of experience with hazardous materials, sampling of environmental media (soil, groundwater, air, etc.), technical writing and environmental consulting or related activities.  The selected candidate must also have/be:

  • Possess strong analytical, organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Be highly motivated, customer focused and work well in a team environment.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Word and Excel also preferred.

In addition, this position requires passing a criminal background check.
 

Degree / Certifications:

  • B.S. degree in scientific or engineering field is required. 
  • Completion of 40-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training and current 8-hour HAZWOPER refresher training preferred.  
  • Professional certification (PE, PG, CHMM) preferred.

Work Environment:

  • Occasional field work and travel up to 5% may be required.  
  • Field work may occur during all seasons, including peak summer and winter conditions.  
  • This position may also support projects throughout the United States.
