Responsibilities:  

Essential duties include the following:
•    Lead fieldwork.
•    Conduct wetland identification, delineation, determination, mitigation in accordance with State and Federal rules and regulations.  Prepare all associated data sheets and wetland reports.
•    Conduct threatened and endangered plant and wildlife species surveys.
•    Perform additional field surveys.
•    Use Global Positioning System (GPS) units.
•    Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements:  
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 
(1)    Minimum experience working in environmental consulting for 10 years.
(2)    Proficient in MS Excel and Word;
(3)    Data management; 
(4)    Field data collection using GPS units and tablets;
(5)    Completion of various types of natural resources field work; and

Bachelor's degree in biology or environmental science

Physical Demands: The candidate will regularly support field work; therefore, the candidate should have a valid driver's license and be physically able to hike and carry field supplies.  

Work Environment: This individual will support project efforts in a team environment with professionals in the field.  Key competencies that are important to the individual's and group's success include strong communication skills, teamwork, and flexibility.  The individual must possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and be able to perform tasks with limited direction and oversight.  The position will require overnight travel to some job sites.

Language & Communication Skills: The candidate must be fluent in both speaking and writing in the English language. 

Other Skills:  Ideal candidates will have experience in California plant identification and surveying or monitoring for species in California, including special-status species.  

The salary range for this position is $50 to $85 per hour. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.
