Position Summary:
The Senior Geotechnical Engineer will support geotechnical and engineering design projects in Texas including the Permian Basin Area of Texas and New Mexico. The appropriate candidate will be selected for this position to be located in Midland, Texas. Primary responsibilities include leading, management, and implementation of an existing geotechnical engineering program for our oil and gas and energy clients. This includes but is not limited to development and maintenance of an existing engineering program, oversight and mentorship of staff engineers, oversight and coordination with staff.

Essential Job Functions:

• Primary responsibilities include management, implementation, and development of the existing geotechnical engineering program for our oil and gas and energy clients.
• Maintain positive relationships with current clients and develop relationships with new clients.
• Supervise all geotechnical engineering design and fieldwork.
• Supervise field work and reporting for geotechnical engineering design including field testing and sample/data collection.
• Lead geotechnical teams in performing geotechnical investigations/ studies and design applications.
• Geotechnical recommendations and engineering design of sites for structural foundations, retaining walls, embankments, pavement design. Slope stability evaluation, assessments and related site development applications.
• Review and analysis of geotechnical analytical laboratory data.
• Maintain or modification of existing geotechnical investigation practice and programs, as needed.
• Maintain or modification of laboratory testing programs.
• Troubleshooting of geotechnical related construction monitoring and testing.
• Employee mentoring and training of less experienced engineers and field technicians.
• Develop work plans, reports and proposals for various types of geotechnical investigations and assessments.
• Technical report preparation and review.
• Other duties may be assigned.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's in science degree in Civil/Geotechnical or Geological Engineering with a geotechnical emphasis from a four-year ABET accredited engineering program required.
• 6 to 10 years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's in science degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering preferred.
Physical Requirements:
• Candidate must possess and be able and available to travel via land and/or air and possess a valid driver's license in good standing.
• The candidate must be able to walk across rough surfaces that may be muddy and rutted in inclement weather
• The candidate must be able to hear warning signals from heavy machinery that is in motion.
• Some heavy lifting required, including equipment lifting.
Work Environment / Environmental Factors:
• Work will be primarily in the office, however some time will be split between the office and field, as needed.
• Projects and field work will primarily be in West Texas, South Texas, and southeastern New Mexico area and some overnight travel will be required.
• Field work will be primarily outdoors, exposed to varying weather conditions, while wearing fire-retardant clothing (FRC).
