The Opportunity:
LDIS LLC, A Tetra Tech Company, provides integrated engineering and design solutions for the Energy, Petrochem, Renewables, Water Treatment and Life Sciences markets. Your Role:
A structural engineer's primary responsibility is safety. They design and oversee the construction of various structures, ensuring they fulfill their intended purposes safely, economically, and functionally throughout their lifespan. This includes both new constructions and refurbishments of older structures. Structural engineers analyze immediate and future loads on buildings to ensure public safety. They assess foundations, beams, and overall structural integrity, working across different construction phases such as design, construction, extensions, conversions, and repairs. Collaboration with other engineers and designers is crucial throughout the process, in which a structural engineer must have strong analytical skills, communication abilities, and commercial awareness.
Job Responsibilities:
- Recently graduated from ABET accredited University of Engineering.
- Ability to work with a Civil/Structural lead on various projects- complete tasks as assigned by the lead engineer.
- Performs engineering calculations and develops analysis models for projects with supervision.
- Basic review and check designs; assists in the development of design guides, guide specifications and design control procedures.
- Some interface with other disciplines, vendors, clients and contractors.
- Prepares specifications detailing performance requirements, specific components, design requirements, applicable design codes, and vendor drawing requirements.
- Visit vendor facilities and jobsites as necessary.
- Prepare inquiry and purchase requisitions, bid tabulations on simple purchases, and reviews vendor drawings for compliance with specifications.
- Demonstrate a focus on least cost, safe design.
Job Qualifications:
Education and Experience
- Required: ABET accredited Institution, BS in Structural or Civil Engineering or higher.
- 0-3 years of experience preferred.
- Experience in the Oil and Gas industry a plus.
- EIT registration is desired.
Technical Skills
- Engineering of Grading, Erosion, and Sediment Control Plans for Site improvements.
- Engineering of reinforced concrete foundations (spread footing, drilled piers, helical piles).
- Engineering of simple and complex structures (Pipe supports, pipe racks, platforms, equipment skids, etc.).
- Basic understanding in using Structural Engineering Software such as RISA, STAAD, MathCAD and spreadsheets.
- Responsible for setting up and maintaining an organized file system for design drawings.
- Provide efficiency reviews and/or value engineering options for existing designs.
- Ability to use a computer and computer software programs, including AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, CADWorx, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
- Basic knowledge of the latest edition of the IBC, ACI 318, and AISC specifications.
- Working knowledge of Site grading, BMP utilization, and drainage requirements.
Administrative Skills
- Execute the best design solution by applying industry knowledge while considering customer needs and budgeting requirements.
- Provide technical assistance for projects during bidding, design, permitting and construction.
- Ability to scope out a project and determine required deliverables.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work well with a team or independently.
- Work cooperatively with other designers and disciplines to produce a coordinated set of design documents.
- Timely and effective communication with project personnel.

Salary Range: $32.10/hour -$45.00/hour depending on level of experience, education and location.
