Position Summary:
As a Transportation Roadway Design Engineer, EIT, you will support the design of local roadways, highways, multi-use paths, and traffic control systems. You will collaborate with experienced engineers to deliver high-quality design solutions and technical deliverables that advance project goals.

Essential Job Functions:
The following duties are considered essential to the role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
⦁    Support design of highway, arterial, and local roadway improvements.
⦁    Develop roadway, signing, pavement marking, traffic signal, and maintenance-of-traffic plans.
⦁    Perform roadway 3D modeling.
⦁    Prepare estimated quantity calculations and cost estimates.
⦁    Conduct site visits to support design development.
⦁    Prepare alternative evaluation studies and technical reports.

Required Qualifications:
⦁    Bachelor's degree in civil engineering (transportation focus preferred).
⦁    Entry-level experience, up to 5 years.
⦁    Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or the intent to pursue Professional Engineer licensure.
⦁    Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
⦁    Experience with MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, or Civil 3D.
⦁    Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
⦁    Ability to travel periodically (approximately 15% or more).

Preferred Qualifications:
⦁    Prior internship or coursework related to transportation engineering.
⦁    Familiarity with state DOT design standards.
⦁    Experience participating in multidisciplinary project teams.

Physical Requirements:
⦁    Ability to perform occasional fieldwork, including walking on uneven terrain.
⦁    Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.
⦁    Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working at a computer or in the field.

Work Environment / Environmental Factors:
⦁    Office environment with periodic outdoor fieldwork.
⦁    Exposure to variable weather conditions during field activities.
⦁    Moderate noise levels typical of office and field settings.

⦁    Full-time position based in Toledo, OH.
⦁    Standard business hours with occasional schedule flexibility to support project needs.
⦁    Hybrid work options may be considered depending on project requirements.
⦁    Travel estimated at approximately 15% or as needed for project assignments.
