Main Function:
The Director of Professional Practice and Quality is a pivotal leadership role responsible for advancing nursing excellence, ensuring high-quality patient care, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within our organization. This role champions professional nursing practice, supports evidence-based care and drives initiatives that align with national quality standards and organizational goals. The Director will lead efforts related to ANCC Magnet Recognition, manage nursing quality programs, and support the professional development and engagement of nursing staff.
Required Job Specific Competencies:
- Exceptional leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with proficiency in data interpretation and reporting
- Ability to inspire, motivate, and collaborate effectively with diverse groups of healthcare professionals
- In-depth knowledge of nursing professional practice standards, regulatory requirements, and national quality initiatives
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and quality improvement software/tools
- Ability to lead and manage complex programs such as ANCC Magnet, NDNQI, and NICHE
- Demonstrated ability to support and integrate shared governance structures
- Capacity to promote and facilitate nursing research and evidence-based practice
Education:
- Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) required
- Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) or PhD in Nursing preferred
Licensure/Certification:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in NY state
- Certification in Nursing Professional Development, quality, or a related specialty preferred
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in nursing, with a strong focus on professional practice, quality, and/or Magnet initiatives
- Demonstrated experience with ANCC Magnet Recognition Program, including successful designation or re-designation
- Experience as an NDNQI coordinator and familiarity with NICHE program standards
- Proven track record of leading successful quality improvement projects and fostering a culture of evidence-based practice
- Experience supporting shared governance structures and nursing research activities

Salary Pay Range: $105,000-125,000/year
Starting Pay: Based on experience
