POSITION SUMMARY:

​​POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide excellent customer service to team members regarding payroll and benefits questions, ensuring clarity and understanding.

  • Communicate updates or changes to payroll and benefits programs to team members clearly and effectively.

  • Offer support to newly hired team members by explaining payroll processes and benefits programs, as needed.

  • Address and resolve payroll discrepancies, errors, or inquiries from team members.

  • Assist with payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and adherence to payroll policies and deadlines.

  • Audit payroll data for accuracy, including timekeeping records, earnings, deductions, bonuses, and other payroll-related data.

  • Maintain and update payroll records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.

  • Ensure compliance with payroll laws and regulations, including tax filings, wage garnishments, and other payroll-related legal requirements.

  • Act as a point of contact for day-to-day benefits administration and team member benefit inquiries, providing guidance and resolving issues in a timely manner.

  • Support benefits enrollment processes, including open enrollment, new hire enrollments, and qualifying life events.

  • Educate team members on benefit programs and provide tools for them to make informed decisions.

  • Support leave of absence activity in coordination with external vendor and internal partners

  • Assist with updating policies, procedures, and benefits-related communication materials.

  • Reconcile benefits invoices (including union payroll deductions) to ensure accurate charges and resolve any discrepancies.

  • Ensure payroll and benefits programs comply with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., FLSA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA).

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date team member records in HRIS and payroll systems.

  • Support audits and reporting requirements related to total rewards programs (e.g., ACA reporting, 401(k) audits).

  • Oversee the Corporate American Express Card program, assisting team members with card administration and card collection, as needed.

  • Perform additional functions and special projects, as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

  • Certifications such as PHR or SHRM-CP is a plus.

  • 2-3 years of experience in benefits administration, payroll administration, or a related HR role, preferably in a multi-state organization.

  • Experience with payroll and HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, or similar platforms) is a plus.

  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws, (FLSA, ACA, COBRA).

  • Prior experience with union populations is a plus.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve issues efficiently.

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Suite, (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to keep information and internal communications confidential is necessary.

  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to work in fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to handle sensitive team member issues tactfully.

  • Ability to travel as necessary according to business needs.
