Summary of Job Duties: We are seeking a skilled Pediatric Otolaryngology Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to provide comprehensive care to pediatric patients. The APRN will assess, diagnose, and treat health conditions, serving as a clinical resource for patients, families, and staff. This role is based at Arkansas Children's Hospital in Northwest AR and offers a Monday-to-Friday schedule with no weekends, holidays, or nights, allowing for a balanced professional life while providing exceptional care.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program with at least a Master's in Nursing.
  • National Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. May have a certification as a Pediatric Nurse practitioner in either acute or primary care.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Advanced Clinical Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency in pediatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Problem-Solving: Skilled in identifying and addressing health concerns with evidence-based solutions.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to manage diverse patient needs and dynamic clinical environments.
  • Team Collaboration: Commitment to working cohesively with interdisciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct clinical services for patients according to established protocols and utilizing evidence-based clinical practice standards in collaboration with a physician.
  • Obtain patient health histories, complete physical examinations, and interpret hemodynamic data.
  • Document pertinent normal and abnormal findings. Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests.
  • Formulate and implement a treatment plan for the management of acute and chronic 
    illnesses in collaboration with the physician.
  • Document in medical records appropriately. 
  • Provide family-centered care to meet the child's health care needs.
  • Utilize current research and evidence-based decision-making in all clinical practice.
  • Participate in staff education, and educate other APRN/PA students, residents, and/or fellows.
  • Provide leadership and professional interaction within your team or to team members.
  • Coordinate with families the care and progress of their child in person, by telephone, or by email as 
    appropriate.
  • Communicate with others with mutual respect and professional demeanor.
  • Adhere to all standard policies and procedures.
  • Participate in QI or research projects as deemed necessary by your department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
