Summary of Job Duties: This position is located in El Dorado, AR. This is your chance to make a real difference by providing personalized, compassionate care to patients and their families. As an LPN, you will play a key role in assessing patient needs, administering medications, performing the phone nurse role and expectations, and facilitating seamless communication between patients and healthcare providers. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you'll work directly with patients and their families to develop and implement tailored health plans. Your responsibilities include triage, assessment, planning, patient education—whether by phone or in-clinic—and ensuring high-quality care at every step.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School, GED or formal educational equivalent.
  • Current and valid LPN license by the State of Arkansas and a Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • One (1) year of clinical nursing experience or will consider a new grad with a current license and one year of previous medical experience (MA, PCT, CNA).
  • Current BLS certification or must successfully obtain certification within the first 30 days of employment.
  • Must have strong organizational skills and computer knowledge. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Immunization experience.  
  • CPR certification.
  • Ambulatory experience.
  • EPIC experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong clinical expertise and technique.
  • Working knowledge of data processing equipment, basic medical terminology, and applications.
  • Attention to communication, oral, written, and persuasive.
  • Must be able to build collaborative relationships.

Additional Information:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct patient care within the limits of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas, UAMS policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Accountable for adhering to UAMS care guidelines.
  • Observe patients, charting, and reporting changes in patients' conditions.
  • Provide basic care and treatment of patients.
  • Administer prescribed medications and start intravenous fluids, if needed.
  • Assist patients in standing, walking, and other movements.
  • Answer the patient's call and determine how to assist them.
  • Collect samples such as blood, urine, and sputum from patients and perform routine laboratory tests on samples.
  • Clean rooms and prepare exam room for the next patient.
  • Inventory and requisition supplies and instruments.
  • Record necessary data in regards to intake and output.

  • Other duties may be assigned to this position.
