Chief of Surgical Critical Care Services
The Program in Trauma at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center (STC) seeks applications and nominations for the position of Chief of Surgical Critical Care. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic planning, supervision, and administration over 48 critical care beds (24 bed Multi-Trauma ICU, 12 bed Neuro Trauma ICU, 6 bed Critical Care Resuscitation Unit) in the nation's only free standing trauma hospital.
Requirements include board certification by the American Board of Surgery with added qualifications in Surgical Critical. The successful candidate must be a master clinician with extensive experience in ICU administration, quality assurance, and process development / improvement as a unit medical director, and dedication to education of all levels of trainee. A successful research career, including a track record of funded investigation and leading multidisciplinary research is preferred. Experience in ECMO and mechanical circulatory support are desirable
Appointment will be at the Associate Professor or Professor level with salary commensurate with qualification and experience. Compensation is competitive and full-time positions include an extensive benefit plan.
