Description

A position is available for a postdoctoral researcher in theoretical/computational biophysics and biochemistry in the lab of Hedieh Torabifard within the Chemistry and Biochemistry Departments at the University of Texas at Dallas. We are looking for a creative, independent, and highly motivated individual to work on the development of machine-learned force fields, and applications of molecular modeling (including all-atom MD, free energy methods and meta-dynamics) to biomolecular systems using polarizable and non-polarizable force fields. 

This position is funded by a grant for approximately four years.

Minimum Education and Experience

Ph.D in a related field.

Preferred Education and Experience

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Biophysics, Chemistry, or related field. A strong background in computational/theoretical molecular simulations (e.g. force field development, computer simulation, ML/AI, stat. mech.) and programming skills are essential. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Software development and maintenance, methods/ML algorithms development, computational simulations, mentoring of junior group members.

Organize and prepare required reports for research operations and sponsored projects.
Responsible for routine operations, including equipment maintenance, safety training, chemical and purchase inventory.

Maintain a well-documented, reusable codebase, and traceable model history.
Participate in manuscript writing and preparation, conference presentations and posters, and proposal writing.
