Description

The Senior Financial Analyst is a full-time position that will primarily manage the operating accounting responsibilities for the Office of Research and will report directly to the Assistant Director of Finance. In this role you will be in charge of internal sales and service centers, One Card reconciliations, cost centers reconciliations, accounting and budget journals, intellectual property accounting and processes, aging reports, and ad-hoc reports. You will also have the opportunity to lead and mentor a direct report helping to shape the future of our financial department.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related area. 
- 3-5 years experience working with PeopleSoft or other complex ERP Accounting Systems. 
- 5-7 years progressively responsible related financial/accounting/budgeting experience. 
- 1-3 years capital accounting and/or budgeting experience. 
An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Experience in UTD OneCard policies.
  • Experience in financial analysis and budget.
  • Strong computer skills particularly with MS Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat, and DocuSign.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • One Card and cost center reconciliations.
  • Processing data and issuing invoices for internal and external sales.
  • Processing accounting and budget journals.
  • Overseeing intellectual property and VDC accounting.
  • Ad-hoc reports.


Additional Information

Remote Notice: Hybrid remote work environment available after a 6 month probationary period and with manager's approval. A UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement is required for hybrid employment. Use of personal computer and other standard office equipment may be required. Must be located within the Dallas Ft. Worth area and have the ability to be on campus with 24 hours of notice.
