Responsibilities
The Manager of Business Systems Analysis has both management and individual contributor responsibilities which include managing a team of analysts and managing project delivery. This position is responsible for leading, mentoring, and developing a team of analysts while ensuring they consistently deliver high-quality projects. In addition, as an individual contributor, the Manager of Business Systems Analysis, along with its team of analysts, leads project delivery, managing requirements gathering, solution design, system implementation and configuration, testing and test script maintenance, releases, training, and ongoing application support. This role is an expert at these functions, creates processes to support best practices, and guides the team in these areas. This individual is also responsible for the management and quality of the analysts' output. The Manager of Business Systems Analysis contributes to the business by leading projects from inception to release, with a focus on ensuring quality throughout and facilitating proper collaboration between stakeholders and project resources. This role also participates strategically by introducing and leading department initiatives, collaborating with business leaders to understand needs and help shape and prioritize project requests. The Manager of Business Systems Analysis knows and uses a wide range of technologies such as Microsoft 365, ADP Vantage, Oracle JD Edwards, Hyland OnBase, SAP Concur, MatrixCare, SharePoint, Salesforce, Enquire CRM, Touchtown, and basic networking. They have a thirst for knowledge and want to continually learn more about these platforms. Principal Accountabilities / Essential Job Functions: Management
- Establishes standard processes and templates to perform system evaluations, capture system requirements, analyze processes, create designs, perform test validation, train users, and to address escalated support requests.
- Supervision of the IT Systems Analysts, which includes hiring, training and development, counseling, performance evaluation, functional development and disciplinary action.
- Responsible for managing the team's support request queue and ensuring Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met by the team.
- Contributes to annual budget and project planning process for systems-related efforts.
- Creates and governs an inventory of current systems and related processes and documentation.
- Periodically reconciles active users and licenses across systems, working in partnership with the business system owners.
- Facilitates and documents the requirements, design, configuration, testing, training, implementation, and support activities for various system solutions.
- Works directly with end-users and other system stakeholders to capture a strong understanding of business processes and associated system requirements.
- Facilitates process analysis and design workshops.
- Fosters and shares an up-to-date understanding of relevant technology product roadmaps and functionality associated with new releases.
- Assesses business needs and assists stakeholders in building business cases and developing Request for Proposals (RFPs) for new projects, guiding them through the vendor selection process.
- Creates and manages project plans for various types of business and software projects.
- Manages project teams including Subject Matter Expects (SMEs), end-users, and
- consultants.
- Responsible for delivery of multiple project types, including integrations, software and
- hardware implementations, upgrades, and smaller development work.
- Application Support
- Creates and maintains design specifications and test scripts.
- Performs configuration, testing, and training.
- Troubleshoots issues related to business systems.
- Coordinates with IT operations and support to ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met and users are getting proper remediation.
- Documents issue resolutions in our knowledge base.
- Assists with system access and security maintenance for active users.
- Assists with training content creation and publishing and/or presenting.
- Travel up to 20% as IT system projects demand.
- Possesses strong people skills including the ability to build relationships and foster collaborative interactions. Ability to effectively facilitate meetings.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple resources and parallel efforts with accountability for timely, cost-effective results.
- Experience with both self-hosted and third-party-hosted and/or cloud business systems.
- Demonstrated self-starter with a strong drive to advance projects and initiatives while delivering consistent quality.
- Possesses excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
- Strong ability to evaluate projects, break down work into manageable tasks, and effectively plan
- their work.
- Ability to create and maintain documentation using Microsoft 365 and Office products, specifically Visio, Project/Planner, and Excel, as well as other related products such as Miro and Smartsheet.
- Strong ability to develop functional and technical specifications and test scripts based on end-user requirements.
- Possesses expert knowledge of system development lifecycle stages (requirements, design, build, test, deploy) and methodologies (waterfall, agile, scrum, SAFe).
- Knowledge of general product and user experience (UX) best practices and can suggest usage patterns and features for end users.
- Competent knowledge of general software development best processes and can assess a system or vendor for competency.
- Proficient in the ability to identify, assess, troubleshoot, and improve/optimize processes, and can present process improvement suggestions in an easily adoptable way.
- Strong ability to effectively communicate with and present to various audiences at all levels in
- the organization, including executives. Inclusive of verbal and written communication skills with a focus on presenting technical information in a simple and easy to understand manner.
- Possesses excellent problem-solving skills and the desire to dive into an issue and ensure closure. Collaborates with others as needed to resolve issues.
- Ability to effectively lead project teams of internal and external resources as well as work collaboratively as part of a team and department to deliver quality.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Management, or commensurate years of experience is required.
• Work Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience in IT system implementations and minimum 5 years of experience as an IT business analyst or in a similar position is required.IT consulting experience is a plus. Prior experience managing a team is preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: CBAP, PMP, CSM, or other related certifications are a plus.
Pay Range
USD $120,543.00 - USD $156,711.00 /Yr.
