Location: This is a hybrid remote/work-from-home position, and the successful candidate must reside in Ontario. On-site attendance is required periodically.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the VON Connect Executive Project Manager, VON Connect Trainers are responsible for the delivery of role-based education and training for VON staff as it pertains to the VON Connect Project and the deployment of the AlayaCare Cloud application enterprise-wise. The blended learning approach includes e-Learning modules and instructor-led training delivered via Zoom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate remote-led training sessions for Ontario staff, that includes on-site leads (Super Users) and end users.
  • Oversees the preparation for training delivery, including preparation and maintenance of the AlayaCare training environment, ensuring end user profiles and logins are working in advance.
  • Ensure the smooth delivery of remote training facilitation using their comprehensive knowledge of the subject and by working with on-site leads (Super Users) to manage classrooms and end users and uses alternative teaching methods to cater to various learning styles.
  • Follow a standardized approach to training in order to remain consistent with other trainers and training sessions.
  • Promote adoption of new knowledge and workflows as it relates to VON Connect.
  • Acts as the subject matter expert by addressing related questions and concerns presented by trainees and uses alternative teaching methods to cater to various learning styles.
  • Troubleshoot and analyze issues that arise to identify corrective action.
  • Track unanswered staff questions following project processes, obtain answers during collaborate project meetings, and bring answers back to the necessary audience(s).
  • Support the transition of learning and education to operational resources by delivering “train the trainer” sessions geared towards those who will facilitate training in the operation state.
  • Identifies and recommends solutions to mitigate learning gaps within the training program.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the existing VON Connect Training program and revise content as appropriate, with the guidance of the VON Connect project team.
  • Support the VON Connect Project Team and Training Lead(s) in updating training course material based on need, optimized processes and future state workflows. This includes updating training scenarios, job aides and eLearning modules to be hosted on the VON Learning Management (LMS) System.
  • Support the VON Connect Project Team and Training Leads in the development and execution of the VON Connect Training Schedule that supports the coordination of large-volume training.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of training delivery and methods, as required.
  • Contribute to testing and evaluation of new or updated VON Connect workflows and processes, as required.
  • Collaborate with regional and/or site/program leadership to develop and implement staff training schedule to ensure that staff training is progressing as planned.

Education, Designations and Experience:

  • Nursing designation and current registration with provincial body preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of recent, relevant clinical nursing experience preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years working with Procura and Cell Track systems.
  • Experience in the community/homecare setting.
  • Experience with training and/or facilitating group learning sessions.
  • Experience in providing education utilizing adult education principles and evidence-based practice.
  • Understanding of education theories and frameworks, practical application and knowledge transfer.
  • Experience in facilitating and conducting traditional & virtual learning methods.
  • Experience in developing education programs and support materials is an asset.

Other:

  • A current and original copy of a satisfactory Criminal Records Check. A Vulnerable Sector Search and/or Child Abuse Registry Check may be required.
  • Ability to speak French is an asset in French Designated areas.
  • The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.

Work conditions and physical demands: This role requires a detail-oriented approach in a dynamic environment, with physical activity including lifting, carrying (using proper techniques), bending, reaching, kneeling, and other movements that emphasize good body mechanics. Individuals in the role are required to walk, sit, stand, and climb stairs throughout the day, with some tasks requiring fine hand movements.
