Position Summary:
As a Diesel Technician C, you'll perform preventative maintenance and assist in repairs on heavy-duty and light-duty trucks, including gasoline, diesel, and CNG systems. This is a hands-on role with plenty of variety—no two days are the same.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist drivers with daily pre- and post-trip inspections.
- Conduct safety checks and preventative maintenance during Safety Lane and PMs.
- Lubricate vehicles and complete routine maintenance tasks.
- Support basic repairs on heavy-duty equipment, including Rear Load, Front Load, Roll-Off, Grapple, Port-a-Let, and other service trucks.
- Communicate vehicle issues to A & B technicians and drivers, and discuss preventative measures.
- Complete all paperwork and computer data entry accurately and on time.
- Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with OSHA and corporate standards.
- Follow factory service manuals for repairs and maintain high standards of ethics and dependability.
Qualifications:
- Ability to assist with pre/post-trip inspections and identify visible vehicle issues.
- Ability to perform fluid top-ups (oil, hydraulic, transmission, DEF, etc.).
- Knowledge of tire inspections and air pressure adjustments.
- Ability to support repairs for lights, wipers, mirrors, and lubrication tasks.
- Ability to assist in basic engine, transmission, brake, suspension, electrical, hydraulic, and body repairs.
- Familiarity with all tools required for vehicle maintenance.
- Basic computer skills for repair documentation and parts tracking.
