To apply to this position and be considered, click the Apply button located above this message and complete the application in full.  Below, you'll find other important information about this position.  Directs the day-to-day functions of the Orchard Park Hospital in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern acute psychiatric hospital program so that the facility achieves its objectives in the following key performance areas: effective patient outcomes; appropriate resource management; and maintenance and compliance with regulatory and accrediting bodies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Bachelor's degree in Health Care Management or Business Administration, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field required.

2. Must possess a valid Driver's license.

3. Must be at least 20 years of age, in accordance with WV DHHR licensing regulations for the facility.

4. Must meet the hiring requirements of the WV DHHR licensing division WV CARES unit regarding criminal background checks.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of three years of experience in leadership role within a behavioral health, acute care, and/or managed care environment. Minimum of three years' experience in behavioral health or hospital related field.

1. Responsibility for the overall direction and development of the acute psychiatric hospital's services and staff. Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates and directs the facility's programs and activities.

2. Providing appropriate oversight to hospital quality assurance and risk management practices to ensure exceptional standards of care and compliance with regulatory and accrediting bodies. Develops and maintains written policies and procedures that govern the operations of the facility.

3. Directly supervises employees in the acute psychiatric hospital program, carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

4. Reviews facility policies and procedures at least annually and make changes as necessary to assure continued compliance with regulations.

5. Assures quality patient care is provided consistent with policies; ensures that the facility meets the standards of accreditation established by licensing and certification agencies.

6. Assumes the administrative authority, responsibility and accountability of directing the activities and programs for the facility.

7. Ensures that all associates, patients, visitors and the general public follow established policies and procedures.

8. Develops the operating budget and capital budget.

9. Responsible for review and plans of action for all complaints and concerns.

10. Sound decision-making and judgment as it pertains to the care and supervision of patients in acute psychiatric hospital.

11. Assures compliance with all rules and regulations.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Working knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations and reimbursement system required.

2. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when the circumstances warrant such action.

3. Ability to prioritize according to the need.

4. Strong financial management skills with basic knowledge of accounting principles.

5. Experience in staff training and development.
