Oversees the planning, coordination and delivery of all AHA training programs for WVUH employees, UHA employees, system hospitals and community members.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Bachelor Degree in related Health/Education field and three (3) years of recent teaching experience OR Associate Degree in related Health Education field and (5) years of recent teaching experience.
2. Attain BLS Instructor status within one month of employment.
3. Attain ACLS instructor status within three months of employment.
4. Attain PALS instructor status within three months of employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Required licensure/certification per discipline if applicable. (i.e LPN, Respiratory Therapy, EMT)
EXPERIENCE:
1. Regional faculty experience.
2. One (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting in nursing, allied health, or EMS field to include pre-hospital.

1. Act as an AHA Training Center Coordinator. Serves as the primary resource and point of contact for AHA assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of classes, instructors, and participants.
2. Responsible for successful AHA site audit.
3. Supervise daily work and assign teaching schedules of AHA instructors.
3. Accountable to ensure manikin integrity, infection prevention, and the availability of resource materials.
4. Develop a department budget for AHA classes to include classroom, manikin, material, instructor, and participant needs.
5. Updates AHA guidelines into all AHA courses.
6. Communicates and holds update sessions on course material, policies, etc. to all instructors.
7. Independently make decisions regarding AHA training center coordination policies and practices as appropriate.
8. Schedule and communicate available classes with WVU Medicine System leaders and employees.
9. Maintains AHA resources on CEOD website.
10. Oversee production of AHA certification cards for participants and instructors.
11. Nominate individuals for Regional BLS, ACLS, and PALS Faculty appointment using judgment of instructors teaching capabilities, quality of courses conducted and commitment of instructing.
12. Responsible for maintaining instructor records, LMS entry for WVU Medicine instructors and participants, and when needed provide notification to HR of successful class completion.
13. Monitors certification and coordinates certification records and details, course enrollments, procedures, and documentation, manages deadlines and schedules for all programming.
14. Collaborates with other training centers in the WVU Medicine System for classes when needed to ensure equipment, supplies and other resources are available.
15. Establish satellite training center sites at WVU Medicine affiliate locations.
16. Coach, mentor and monitor all sites under WVU training center.
17. Serve as regional faculty and an active member of Regional ECC Committee, serve as chair if appointed.

1. Must be physically capable of correctly demonstrating mannequin skills on all mannequins (infant, child, adult) on the ground/floor/table.
2. Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds of equipment, when working/moving equipment for setup, storage, and cleaning.
