Employment Status: Part Time
Hours: 3 days, 9-hour shifts (27 hours weekly / 54 hours bi-weekly)
Shift: 1st Shift
Call Rotation: 12 days per month and every 3rd weekend. Must be available within 30 minutes of call activation.

Department Description

The Cardiovascular Interventional Lab at Wilson Health delivers advanced diagnostic and interventional procedures for adult and geriatric patients. As a Cardiovascular Interventional Technologist, you'll play an essential role in helping physicians diagnose and treat cardiovascular conditions by producing high-quality imaging, assisting during procedures, and ensuring exceptional patient care. You'll work alongside a highly skilled team of cardiologists, radiologists, nurses, and surgeons dedicated to achieving the best possible patient outcomes.

Job Summary

As a Cardiovascular Interventional Technologist, you'll perform a wide variety of diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular and peripheral vascular procedures in a technologically advanced clinical setting. Working closely with physicians, nurses, and surgical staff, you'll help deliver safe, efficient, and compassionate care while utilizing your technical expertise and critical thinking skills. This role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on patient outcomes while contributing to a collaborative and team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular and peripheral vascular procedures utilizing radiologic and fluoroscopic imaging techniques.
  • Assist physicians in the scrub role while maintaining strict aseptic technique and sterile field standards.
  • Prepare, position, and manipulate catheters and guidewires while documenting procedural findings accurately.
  • Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care before, during, and after procedures.
  • Educate patients by explaining procedures and answering questions to help ease concerns and improve understanding.
  • Monitor and document patient vital signs, including ECG, blood pressure, and pulse oximetry.
  • Assist Registered Nurses with patient admissions, discharges, and collection of pertinent clinical information.
  • Maintain expertise in vascular anatomy, procedural techniques, and interventional equipment.
  • Apply department coding and charging processes to support accurate billing practices.
  • Respond to emergency call situations within the required 30-minute response time.
  • Foster positive communication and collaboration with physicians, staff, patients, and families.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities in high-pressure situations.
  • Participate in continuing education, training programs, and departmental initiatives to maintain licensure, certifications, and professional competency.
Qualifications
  • Associate Degree (A.A.S.) or equivalent from an accredited two-year college or technical program.
  • ARRT registered or registry-eligible; Cardiac Interventional and/or Vascular Interventional certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
  • Current licensure through the Ohio Department of Health.
  • BLS and ACLS certification required within six months of hire.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Two years of Cath Lab or Interventional Radiology experience preferred, but not required.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently while understanding the importance of accuracy and patient safety.
  • Excellent communication, professionalism, and teamwork skills.
