The ideal candidate will bring previous experience in a fast-paced communications or customer service environment and be comfortable handling multiple calls, computer systems, emergency procedures, and competing priorities.
Because the Operations Center serves as a critical communication point for the hospital, strong prior experience, reliability, accuracy, and professional communication skills are especially important for this position.
Employment Status: FULL TIME - 72 hours per pay period Working Hours: 11:30pm - 7:30am - third shiftShift: Third Shift, every other weekend and every other holiday.

Department Description:
The Operations Center Technician is responsible for operating the hospital switchboard, answering and directing internal and external calls, completing overhead and pager announcements, monitoring alarm and emergency communication panels, and supporting required daily computer operations.
This position requires an individual who can remain professional and composed while managing a high volume of calls and communications. Previous experience working with multi-line telephone systems, switchboards, call centers, dispatching, hospital communications, or similar fast-paced environments is highly preferred.
Job Summary: The Operations Center Technician is responsible for answering the switchboard consoles, pages on the overhead and on voice and digital pagers. Types and files daily operating information. The Technician is also responsible for monitoring alarm panels and operate computer equipment in order to execute the required daily computer operations.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Accurately answer and manage a high volume of internal and external telephone calls in a timely and professional manner.

Transfer calls accurately to the appropriate departments, extensions, or individuals.

Operate communication consoles, switchboard equipment, paging systems, and other communication technology.

Follow established procedures for emergency codes and situations, including disaster drills, CareFlight, traumas, abductions, and other hospital emergencies.

Complete overhead, voice, and digital paging accurately and professionally.

Monitor alarm panels and promptly follow established notification procedures.

Accurately maintain paging and communication logs.

Assist with maintaining and updating TigerConnect.

Type, file, and maintain daily operational information.

Operate computer equipment and complete required daily computer operations.

Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information.

Prioritize multiple requests while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Previous switchboard, call center, dispatch, hospital communications, or high-volume customer service experience strongly preferred.

Previous experience answering and managing a high volume of telephone calls preferred.

Previous experience using multi-line telephone systems, communication consoles, paging systems, or similar technology preferred.

Previous healthcare or hospital experience preferred.

Strong computer skills and ability to learn multiple computer and communication systems.

Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.

Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately follow established procedures.

Ability to remain calm, professional, and focused during emergency or high-pressure situations.

Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work independently during third shift.
