Job Overview:

The Personal Trainer/Activity Specialist is responsible for planning, organizing, guiding and facilitating an array of individual and group activities associated with Property's Fitness and Wellness Activity programs.  These activities could include: yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi, personal training, walking, golf, fishing, biking, hiking, team building, self-improvement, nutrition and fitness.  The AS serves as a host, guide and entertainer in the realm of performing key responsibilities. The AS ensures that all activities are fun and memorable to those that participate.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops, implements and administers program activities consistent with brand initiatives
  • Organizes, conducts and leads various individual & group activities
  • Assesses the physical condition of all participants performing organized activities
  • Educates individuals on proper and safe exercise form
  • Demonstrates proper use of cardio and weight training equipment
  • Develops & implements fitness challenges that promote wellness
  • Ensures that guests/employees are provided with a fun, entertaining, upbeat and memorable activity experience
  • Facilitates Discovery workshops, demos and classes
  • Develops a quarterly newsletter with emphasis on fitness and adventure activities
  • Positively meets, greets, orients and assists guests/employees enjoying the various activities and programs
  • Travels and participates in promotional activities as required
  • Enforces and complies with departmental policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements: (please ensure you meet the listed requirements prior to applying)

  • High School diploma or GED required or currently enrolled and successfully complete a GED program within six (6) months from start date as a condition of continued employment
  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older
  • Must be certified in CPR OR obtain certification within three (3) months of employment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (skills test will be administered)
  • Must be certified as a Personal Trainer from an accredited organization; discipline selection subject to Director approval
  • Must be able to research a topic, develop a presentation, and deliver information in an effective manner (presentation/audition required)
  • Must be able to lead and motivate people in a group environment (audition required)
  • Must pass job audition
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent planning & organizational skills
  • Ability to work a varied schedule (nights, weekends, holidays)
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for entire shift
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, high volume environment
  • Effectively operate standard office equipment – phones, computers, etc.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft applications – Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Must have a valid and current State Driver's License and an insurable driving record for purposes of driving company vehicles as required
  • Must have a Tribal Gaming License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) as a requirement for this position
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license
  • Must have willingness and ability to work in a smoke/secondary smoke environment
