Description

The Benefits Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Employee Benefits Department with their oversight of the company's healthcare, retirement and other employee benefits programs. The position will act as a primary point of contact for employees and   key processes including billing, internal communications, reporting, project support and other benefits related responsibilities as assigned.

  • Responsible for employee communication regarding the organization's benefits offerings and acts as a liaison between the organization, employees, and third-party benefits providers.
  • Fully responsible for all correspondence with the HRBenefits mailbox
  • Reviews all the initial benefits department inquiries from employees including first level response/troubleshooting and escalates complex matters to department management as needed.
  • Assists in various annual processes including open enrollment, non-discrimination testing, ACA reporting, 401k audits etc.
  • Facilitate all Benefits communications and training in conjunction with departmental management including drafting the initial communications, coordination with the internal communications team and delivery of the communication or training.
  • Create the drafting of various materials for presentations to internal and external stakeholders including compiling/obtaining relevant information and producing the presentation materials (slides, spreadsheets, documents etc.)
  • Responsible for the monthly benefits reconciliation and billing processes to ensure timely payment to the company's benefits providers and supporting vendors.
  • Prepare, review and analyze various reports and information from the companys vendor portals, HRIS system or other sources.
  • Works on other benefits related matters as assigned.

 

  • High school diploma required. Associates degree preferred
  • Fluent in English & Spanish (written & oral) required.
  • 0 to 2 years of experience in benefits or another HR role a plus.
  • Detail orientated with an ability to respond to internal and external customers effectively.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and compliance with key benefits areas including HIPAA requirements, ERISA regulations, as well as applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

 

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Ability to use a computer for tasks such as communicating via email, preparing reports, working with various software systems including Microsoft Office.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance during normal business hours including attending in-person meetings and reporting to an office to collaborate with management and employees.
  • Occasional travel (10% annually) to support projects or during open enrollment.
  • Prepare, review and analyze data to make recommendations to leadership.
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
