DRS RADA is a global pioneer of RADAR systems for active military protection, counter-drone applications, critical infrastructure protection, and border surveillance.

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior SMT Process Engineer to join our team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day engineering support for SMT production lines.
  • Monitor and optimize SMT manufacturing processes to ensure high quality, yield, and productivity.
  • Investigate and resolve process-related issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, including process development, validation, and production readiness.
  • Develop, update, and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and manufacturing procedures.
  • Analyze production data and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce defects.
  • Support process qualification, equipment validation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work with SMT equipment, including solder paste printers, pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, SPI, AOI, and X-Ray inspection systems.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Manufacturing Engineering, and R&D teams to resolve manufacturing challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with IPC standards, ESD requirements, company procedures, and safety regulations.
Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Up to two years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Recent graduates with relevant academic projects or internships are encouraged to apply.
  • Basic knowledge of SMT manufacturing processes is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with PCB assembly processes is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 standards.
  • Familiarity with AOI, SPI, X-Ray inspection systems, and reflow profiling.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, SPC, FMEA, DOE, 8D, and Root Cause Analysis methodologies.
  • Experience with MES and ERP systems is an advantage.
  • Experience in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment is an advantage.
