Job Summary

Responsible for managing a team of manufacturing and test engineers.  Plan and execute manufacturing projects across multiple products in various lifecycles.  Achieve manufacturing performance obligations including schedule and budget.

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage a technical group independently
  • Own resource allocation and workload strategy across the team, setting priorities and resolving cross-functional conflicts
  • Define and own the manufacturing plans, production flows, test requirements, and capacity strategy for the defense portfolio
  • Set the manufacturing technology roadmap and drive right-size solutions within technical and program constraints
  • Own the manufacturing specialty competency strategy, establishing and governing a cross-training curriculum with measurable objectives
  • Serve as the authoritative manufacturing subject matter expert (SME), influencing engineering development projects and design reviews to ensure producibility
  • Serve as the enterprise manufacturing authority, directing SME consultation and guidance to the supply base
  • Own the manufacturing estimating strategy and approve proposal inputs and basis of estimates (BOEs)
  • Partner with senior production leadership to shape execution strategy and ensure uninterrupted manufacturing
  • Drive clear communication (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer
  • Represent the organization as the senior manufacturing engineering authority in customer briefings
  • Champion, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
Job Responsibilities Part II
  • Direct operational studies and set throughput strategy within facility, equipment, and personnel constraints
  • Drive manufacturing innovation and shape the BU technical strategy
  • Establish and govern the continuous improvement strategy across process, cost, quality and production
  • Own the disposition authority and governance for non-conforming material
  • Own the governance framework for Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) activities
  • Manage/supervise a team of engineers
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field with a minimum of 7 years of experience

U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.

 

The salary range for this position is $156,192 - $223,422/year. This range reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to: Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate's qualifications such as prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for: annual performance-based bonuses, equity awards, and overtime pay (for non-exempt employees as applicable.
