Job SummaryDRS Pivotal Power has a current opening for an energetic, self-motivated person, with a proven ability to work closely and cooperatively with others, to fill a full time co-op contract position as an Industrial Engineer Co-op. This role will be in-office, and will report to our Bedford, NS office each day for work. It is not a hybrid/remote position.
The successful candidate will be responsible (but not limited to):- Work closely with and assist the Production Manager in the conduct of various industrial engineering assignments
- Conduct time and motion studies on the production floor
- Review current production methods and determine opportunities for efficiency improvements.
- Competing assigned tasks on time
- Gather and assemble production line data
- Perform a wide variety of tasks to gain familiarity with the production environment, support engineering staff, methods, programs and practices
- Carry out basic work instructions that will help in understanding the fundamentals of the Company and also learn new things
- May be required to help research in a particular field
- Conduct design analysis and/or calculations under the supervision of engineers
- Assist engineers with appropriate design details
- Analyze data sets, create pivot tables, tableaus or other dashboards for Operational use
- Must have good interpersonal skills and have the ability to gain confidence from internal stakeholders
- Perform a wide variety of tasks to gain familiarity with staff, company methods, programs and practices
- Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED
- Currently enrolled Engineering student; some progress towards engineering degree
- Must be diligent, hardworking, and quick to learn
- Positive, "get it done" attitude that can rise to the challenge
- Work well on their own or in a small group setting
- Keen attention to detail
