Job Summary

Leonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking a full-time Systems Engineer I for our Bridgeton, MO facility who is responsible for working with an engineering team to execute an interdisciplinary, systems engineering process on a diverse portfolio of military products and technologies, focused on battlefield reconnaissance and surveillance, survivability, lethality, heavy transport, mobility, fuel and water distribution, radar, and electronic systems testing.  This responsibility includes helping to ensure that the customer's and stakeholders' product requirements and needs are satisfied in a high-quality, trustworthy, cost-efficient, and schedule-compliant manner throughout a system's entire life cycle.

Job Responsibilities
  • Be able to both complete a technical project or activity independently, and work with a team of engineers to complete a technical project or activity within schedule and budget constraints
  • Review customer specifications and requirements, and develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable
  • Execute the systems engineering process including requirements analysis and engineering, architectural design, modeling & simulation, systems engineering documentation, risk management, system integration, and verification and validation
  • May use computer-aided design or SysML design/analysis software in performance of work
  • Ensure the systems engineering process is integrated into program plans
  • Collaborate in problem resolution efforts and support efforts to attain excellent customer satisfaction
  • Continuously train in and increase your knowledge of the evolving practice of modern systems engineering
  • Support the acquisition of hardware and software (or subcontractor services as needed)
  • Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems, and services
  • Provide technical knowledge and assistance to other engineers and support personnel
  • Provide regular reporting of progress and status
  • Attend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetings
  • Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, written and oral
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of time CONUS (Contiguous United States) and OCONUS (Outside the Contiguous United States) if required
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and TEAMS) desired

U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.

 

The salary range for this position is $64,313.00/year- $83,606.00/year for the state of Illinois.  This range reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to: Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate's qualifications such as prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for: annual performance-based bonuses, equity awards, and overtime pay (for non-exempt employees as applicable.
