Overview

The RiskRecon team is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to collaborate with various teams in designing, developing, and delivering performant and robust data solutions with a high level of innovation as well as integrations in support of Mastercard and its customers. The challenge is to improve existing and build out new systems and intuitive workflows that allow users to derive insights from industry relevant data models.

Role

Must have proven experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DocumentDB, and their associated query languages (SQL, MQL, etc.), as well as AWS data-related tooling such as Amazon Glue, Redshift, and EventBridge.

Knowledge and understanding of ETL processes and tooling, with required proficiency in the Python programming language and experience with big data systems (Spark, Hadoop, etc.) as a plus.

Ensure tasks get executed on time and to required standards, improve existing and build new data solutions and systems, and pass on knowledge of various technologies to other team members and functions.

Collaborate with software engineers, product teams, Data Engineers, and Analysts to tackle complex data challenges, deliver accurate and impactful data solutions, and enhance and automate data pipelines for a global client base.

Manage, optimize, and ensure the performance and reliability of data pipelines on SQL Server databases, design and implement high-performance data features, and write clean, efficient, and well-documented code adhering to industry best practices.

Regularly participate in reviews, promote a culture of high standards and continuous improvement, develop scalable and efficient code for timely, accessible, and high-quality data, and follow industry best practices for version control, code reviews, and data validation.

Build strong, supportive relationships with clients and team members, contribute to both local and global initiatives, optimize data processing with SQL and other database technologies, and mentor and empower team members while ensuring adherence to internal policies and external regulations.

All About You

Strong experience in Data Engineering or a similar role, with a solid understanding of data engineering concepts, methodologies, data modeling, and database design to support scalable data solutions.

Expertise in writing, optimizing, and analyzing SQL queries for efficient data retrieval, manipulation, and analysis, with strong knowledge of Relational Databases (RDBMS) and hands-on experience in Microsoft SQL Server.

Skilled in designing, implementing, and maintaining ETL frameworks and data pipelines, with the ability to analyze and troubleshoot data issues and provide solutions with minimal supervision.

Ability to balance multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and adapt to changing demands in dynamic environments while ensuring accuracy and consistency in data pipelines through testing and validation.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Familiarity with ETL frameworks and experience designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable data solutions, along with basic knowledge of testing and validating data for accuracy.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
