Title and Summary

Senior Software Engineer Are you ready to revolutionize the world of small and medium enterprises (SMEs)? Mastercard is on the hunt for elite engineers to join our SME Unified Business Experience team. We're crafting groundbreaking global products that deliver unparalleled features and platforms to SMEs across the globe.

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team and take ownership of designing, developing, and delivering high-quality software solutions. In this role, you will define technical requirements, customize and integrate applications based on Mastercard's standards, and lead key aspects of the software development lifecycle. You'll also play a key role in mentoring teammates, driving innovation, and improving development processes.

Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and implement technical solutions that meet business needs, following Mastercard's best practices and development standards.
• Lead day-to-day development and maintenance activities to ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
• Manage the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design documentation, testing strategy, performance benchmarking, release planning, and risk mitigation.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies, frameworks, and vendor solutions through research and proof-of-concept (PoC) efforts.
• Mentor and train other team members; lead knowledge sharing sessions and ensure smooth knowledge transfer from vendor technologies.
• Collaborate with vendors for product support and implementation.
• Champion quality assurance and control throughout the SDLC—code reviews, security reviews, testing, and process improvements.
• Coordinate with offshore teams to manage and track daily development activities.

Qualifications:
• Proficient in full stack development using React, Node.js, Java, and Spring Framework.
• Hands-on experience building, deploying, and maintaining scalable, secure software solutions in production environments.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, system architecture, and modern development methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a collaborative, team-first mindset.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality outcomes in fast-paced environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
